Josh Mason - Head Coach of TU Women's Basketball Josh Mason enters his second season as Head Coach of the Women's Basketball team in 2023-24. Mason previously served as Head Coach at North Canton's Hoover High School in 2021-22, where he led the Vikings to a 15-10 record. Mason previously served as an assistant coach at TU during the historic 2020-21 women's basketball season. He helped lead the Dragons to the Great Midwest Athletic Conference Tournament championship and an NCAA Division II Tournament berth for the first time, as the Dragons ultimately reached the Sweet 16. Mason graduated from the University of Cincinnati with a degree in Middle Childhood Education. Mason's passion for coaching basketball began during his time at Cincinnati when he was given the opportunity to be a practice player for the women's basketball program during the 2012-2013 season. He brings over 10 years of coaching experience including stints in junior high, AAU, and high school. A Findlay native, Mason also has high school head coaching experience at Cedarville High School. He compiled a 73-30 record in four seasons as the Cedarville girl's coach, where his teams were district runners-up three times. Shane O'Donnel - Sports Information Director Shane O'Donnell enters his 32nd year as Sports Information Director at Tiffin University. He oversees Sports Information, broadcasting, social media, and assists with game management coordination. Amongst O'Donnell's primary responsibilities are handling media relations and statistical game management, maintaining the athletic website, and historical archive maintenance. He also works with WTUD Director Russ Snyder in overseeing athletic streaming productions. He was named Sports Information Director in February 1992 and is responsible for overseeing all public and media relations efforts for TU. He is responsible for maintaining and updating GoTiffinDragons.com, the official website of TU athletics, as well as supervising a staff that produces digital media, record books, in-game statistics and other content for the athletic teams. He works directly with football, men's soccer, men's and women's wrestling, softball, and women's lacrosse. During his time with the Dragons, the athletic department has seen tremendous growth in the volume and quality of its digital content and live broadcasts. O'Donnell served as chair of the Information and Technology Committee for three years, and also serves on the Web Content Committee. He is the chair of the Hall of Fame Committee, and helped oversee the creation of the Tiffin University Athletic Hall of Fame in 1995. Prior to coming to TU, O'Donnell worked as a sports reporter for the Advertiser-Tribune for 8 years. During this time, he was awarded First place in Sports News Competition by the Great Lakes Interscholastic Press Association in 1987 conducted by School of Mass Communication at Bowling Green State University. O'Donnell is a graduate of Tiffin University, majoring in Organizational Management. He, his wife Dinelle, and family reside in Tiffin. Torrie Ruffin - Skyhawks Sports Academy Manager Torrie Ruffin, the dynamic Area Manager for the Columbus and Cleveland markets at Skyhawks Sports Academy. With over 7 years of experience at Skyhawks, Torrie is passionate about creating inclusive and equitable environments for young athletes to thrive. As an active member of Skyhawks' corporate Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) committee, Torrie is dedicated to bringing DE&I to the forefront of the organization's operations. Her expertise in implementing DEI initiatives and programs has led to a more diverse and engaged workforce in her market and across the nation, contributing to the overall success of the business. Additionally, Torrie coaches high school girls' basketball in the inner city of Columbus, where she previously served as a special needs teacher. Through her work and commitment to DEI, Torrie is a true inspiration and a valuable asset to Skyhawks and the communities she serves.
